Plans for our 40th reunion
Classmates and friends, mark your calendars with a big maroon and gold circle: the official date of our 40th reunion is Saturday, July 19 from 6:30 to 11:30. This year it's at the Reading Country Club, 5311 Perkiomen Avenue.
The cash bar opens at 6:30, and the buffet dinner begins at 7:30.
Menu
- Salads: tossed greens with gorgonzola; sliced tomatoes and fresh mozzarella; bay shrimp salad
- Carving station: Prime rib
- Entrees: Grilled salmon over jicama/carrot/red beet slaw; rigatoni with grilled vegetables and spicy tomato sauce; chicken roulade with sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese
- Vegetables: Rosemary roasted potatoes; julienne medley
- Chef's dessert display
At 8:30 the band strikes up, and it's classmate Dewey Wahl and Wahlstreet. Have a special request? E-mail Dewey at dewey@comcast.net. The band is sponsored by Savage Jeep/Kia/Suzuki --- thank you, Fred!
Your prepaid $58 gets you buffet dinner, music, and a drink chit. Send your check or money order, payable to "Governor Mifflin High School Class of 1968," by Friday, June 27, to Phil Ertel at 16 Rim View Drive, Shillington PA 19607. Please provide the following information:
- Your name
- Number attending
- Total enclosed ($58 per person)
- Your e-mail address, if you have one
There's shotgun-start golf at the RCC on Friday, July 18 at 8 a.m. (The webmaster assumes the golf aficionados know what that means; he has no idea, but it sounds dangerous.) Greens fee and cart usage will be about $35. Contact Phil early if you intend to play so he can try for lower group rates, and tell him how many will be in your party.
At the reunion we'll have a raffle to help defray expenses for our next reunion. If you have an item or service to donate to the cause, please let Phil know what you've got, and tell him your phone number so that the information can be confirmed.

35th reunion
We had a sunny day for our 35th reunion on Saturday, July 19, 2003, at the Beverly Hills Tavern. Many thanks to the organizers, especially Phil Ertel, for their work in planning and publicity.
I apologize profusely for taking over a year to get reunion photos posted! And I must also apologize to whomever sent me a batch of photos: I've forgotten who it was! If you see your photos here, please send me a reminder.
